Detective Dwight (D.J.) Pollock

Detective D.J. Pollock, is an individual that is very well rounded and has success in developing investigative leads while also collaborating with all sections of the agency. He pursues personal and professional goals with enthusiasm and a positive demeanor. He has served the agency in multiple assignments including Patrol, CORE, Investigations, and is an active instructor. He works towards helping meet department goals, which are in line with the USF strategic goals, and he uses informal leadership roles to go above and beyond to help other members of the agency. The Officer of the Year is selected through peer nomination. Detective D.J. Pollock was selected by his peers to receive this honor for his outstanding service throughout the past year. Once nominated, his supervisors supplied strong support and approval of his choice for this honor. 

Detective D.J. Pollock is a Florida native, a graduate of FAU with a Bachelor’s in Criminal Justice, and a graduate of USF with a Master’s in Education. He began working at USF as an administrator in 2008, and later became employed with the USF Police Department in 2016. Since that time, he has been assigned to work in Uniformed Patrol, Community Outreach and Enforcement, and now Criminal Investigations. His training also allows him to help the region through mutual aid assignments, including the Marine Unit, Bicycle Response Team, and Mobile Field Force. Throughout his years at USF, he has always been willing to serve where and when needed, especially to help the community.
