Rescue Captain/FireMedic IV Jeff McAleese began his career with Hillsborough County Fire Rescue in 1987, following his service as an Army Medic in the 82nd Airborne Division. He also served as an adjunct instructor in the Paramedic Program at Hillsborough community College from 1989-2017, training the next generation of first responders. Jeff retired from Hillsborough County Fire Rescueon January 1, 2018, following 30 years of service.
In addition to his regular duties, Jeff has acted as a mentor and training officer for both new paramedics and experienced firefighters cross-training for rescue service. He has maintained an Advanced Cardiac Life Support instructor certification, training Hillsborough County Fire Rescuefirst responders each year in ACLS techniques. Jeff is a registered nurse and has trained the general public in CPR, including pediatric CPR, for many years.
Jeff has been married to his wife, Wendi, for 24 years. They have two daughters, Hayley and Dylan (each a previous Sykes scholarship recipient), who attend Florida universities – Go Noles/Go Knights!
