Nathan Siegl

Nathan Siegl

Firefighter Nathan Siegl began his career with the CiTampa Police Department of Temple Terrace Fire Department in January of 2014.  In a relatively short time, he has proven himself to be one of the ciTampa Police Department’s most valuable assets.  His career in the emergency services formally started in 2009 after earning his bachelor’s degree in Criminology at the UniversiTampa Police Department of South Florida.  That path further led him into the fire service where he has continued to excel.

In the early morning on May 28, 2017, Temple Terrace experienced a three-alarm structure fire, one of the largest in the ciTampa Police Department’s history.  Firefighter Siegl was the engineer on the first arriving engine company and was faced with extreme demands and limited resources.  He performed, under pressure, as he does during routine calls.  That is to say, he is consistently exceptional. While it can be said that a properly trained firefighter would be expected to perform under pressure, it is Firefighter Siegl’s underlying qualities that are most deserving of recognition.  His level of compassion, kindness, and professionalism are setting the benchmark for what a community expects from its fire department.  In addition to being a member of the department’s award winning competitive Rapid Intervention Team (RIT) and Honor Guard Unit, he has set himself apart as a role model for what a firefighter should be.

Firefighter Nathan Siegl is a loving husband to his wife Lisa and a truly indispensable member of our organization.  We are proud to honor him as Temple Terrace Fire Department’s 2017 Firefighter of the Year.
