Officer Richard Curry
Officer Richard Curry began his employment as a UniversiTampa Police Department of South Florida Police Officer in August of 2009. In December 2009, Officer Curry was activated by the Florida Army National Guard and deployed overseas. After serving his country for almost a year, Officer Curry returned from active duty and continued his work with the USFPolice Department, serving this community. Officer Curry is currently an agency Instructor in multiple disciplines, a department Field Training Officer and a member of the Tactical Response Program.
Throughout Officer Curry’s career, he has received many accolades. In 2014, Officer Curry assisted in the rescue of a woman and her disabled adult daughter when they inadvertently drove into a flooded ditch and were in danger of drowning. He and two other officers were recognized with the agency Valor award for their response to this incident. In 2014, Officer Curry also received a Crime in Progress award.
Officer Richard Curry aspires to become a patrol supervisor and plans to further his education and career in Law Enforcement.
